About the Role The HSEQ Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality systems across the Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation and its subsidiaries. The role ensures compliance with all relevant legislation and promotes a strong safety and Zero Harm culture throughout the organisation. It involves leading risk assessments, incident investigations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives that align with both commercial goals and cultural values. This position plays a key part in safeguarding the wellbeing of employees, the community, and the environment. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain effective Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) management systems across all RAC entities. Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Lead risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, driving corrective and preventive actions. Deliver HSEQ inductions, training, and initiatives that promote a strong safety and Zero Harm culture. Support psychosocial wellbeing and ensure culturally appropriate safety and wellbeing programs. Liaise with management, staff, contractors, and regulators to maintain high HSEQ performance and communication. Promote environmental sustainability and continuous improvement across operations. Skills and Experience Required Minimum 3 years experience in HSEQ coordination or advisory roles, ideally within mining, construction, or related industries. Strong knowledge of Northern Territory and Commonwealth WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Proven ability to develop, maintain, and audit HSEQ management systems. Demonstrated experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis. Skilled in designing and delivering HSEQ training programs to diverse workforces. Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills across all organisational levels. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSEQ management systems / software. Experience working in remote environments and with Indigenous communities (highly desirable). Cultural awareness and sensitivity to work respectfully with Yol?u people and culture (essential).
