EOI - Airport Grounds Maintenance & Landscape Officer

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundsperson to join our Operations team at Darwin International Airport (DIA). This hands‑on role involves maintaining and improving the presentation, safety, and functionality of all airport grounds and infrastructure – both airside and landside. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in your work, and thrive in a team environment, this could be the perfect role for you About the Role As a Groundsperson, your day‑to‑day tasks will include: General grounds maintenance: mowing, whipper snipping, mulching, weeding, litter collection, and tree care Application of herbicides and insecticides Minor repairs: fencing, roads, signage, pavements, irrigation systems Airside support: surface repairs, vegetation control, stockpile management Support for events, storm clean‑ups, and emergency response Assisting with terminal maintenance and furniture moves Participation in the airport runway and apron repainting program Working alongside external contractors when required Compliance with all safety, security, and airport regulations What You’ll Bring Essential Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or horticulture Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team Skilled in operating and maintaining grounds equipment Physically fit and comfortable working in all weather conditions Knowledge of WHS practices Valid driver’s licence Willingness and ability to obtain Chemical Accreditation Airside Driver’s Licence First Aid Certificate Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and AFP clearance Desirable Certificate in Horticulture, Landscaping, or related field Experience in secure or airport environments MR licence White Card Irrigation system maintenance experience Pest, weed, and vegetation management knowledge Familiarity with small engines and machinery Why ADG?
