We are looking for an experienced Full‑Time Venue Supervisor to join the PLG team at Sugar Gum in Hillside. You will oversee all areas of the venue, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, supervising staff during their shifts, and monitoring revenue targets while controlling costs. Located in Hillside, The Sugar Gum Hotel is a popular local landmark featuring a spacious family bistro, large kids’ areas, and a casual social spot for pre‑dinner cocktails or a casual catch‑up with friends. What will my duties include? Supervise all areas of the venue to ensure smooth and efficient operations, adhering to company policies and procedures. Ensure employees are allocated to the correct areas on shift and that labour is well controlled and managed. Lead and support the team during shifts, providing guidance and addressing issues; ensure staff are well trained and motivated. Ensure that all health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements are met. The role you are applying for may be quite fast‑paced and require tasks such as lifting boxes, kegs or stock, standing for long periods of time, and utilising stairs. What We Are Looking For Current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA). Current Victorian Responsible Service of Gambling Certificate (RSG). Current Victorian Gaming Employee Licence. Food Handlers Certificate. TAB Compliance. Previous experience in a similar role. Ability to lead, motivate and manage staff effectively. Strong interpersonal skills. Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Full working rights in Australia.
