The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead d) vacancy. This is a dual classified position also advertised as a Clinical Lead ). Only one position will be filled on merit. The Team Join the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), a dynamic, community-based team located in beautiful Launceston, Tasmania. Our multidisciplinary team delivers compassionate, person‑centred mental health care through both in‑community and outreach services. Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead to join our multidisciplinary Older Persons Mental Health Team. In this pivotal role, you will provide high‑level clinical leadership and strategic support to ensure the delivery of exceptional mental health services in line with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, National Mental Health Standards, and relevant legislation. Lead and guide the strategic development and management of a community mental health team. Drive change management initiatives to implement models of care and service improvements. Oversee human and physical resources to ensure optimal service delivery. Champion best‑practice clinical processes for improved client outcomes and enhance consumer and carer engagement. Requirements Leadership & Coordination: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary mental health teams, supervise staff, and manage clinical activities and resources effectively. Strategic & Quality Focus: Strong understanding of the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, commitment to implementing models of care, and experience in quality and safety processes. Communication & Compliance: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, stakeholder engagement capability, and knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and professional standards (including current nursing registration). Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess a specialist tertiary graduate or post‑graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed an accredited hospital‑based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom. A minimum of 3 years postgraduate clinical experience in the context of a community mental health team (desirable). Additional Information Permanent full‑time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum with a 12 % superannuation contribution on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455–$105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. Additional allowances may include a postgraduate allowance up to 10 % based on qualification type and a multidisciplinary allowance for dual classified roles. Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.
