Volunteer and Community Participation Coordinator Location: Maitland Hospital, Maitland, NSW (with travel to Kurri Hospital and other community locations) Salary: $87,813 - $116,824 p.a. + Superannuation + Salary Packaging Employment Type: Permanent Full Time 38 hrs/week Role Overview We build strong relationships, harness volunteer passion, and strengthen care through community connections. This role sits at the heart of volunteer programs, translating community engagement into improved patient and service experience. Responsibilities Lead, support, and celebrate volunteers across our services Recruit, welcome, and train new volunteers, helping them find purpose and belonging Spend time across both sites, offering hands‑on presence and guidance Build strong partnerships with community groups, organisations, and fundraising supporters Coordinate events and engagement activities that bring joy, connection, and care Work with consumers and committees on key projects and initiatives Partner with diverse groups – Aboriginal communities, pastoral care, cultural organisations – to strengthen inclusion Turn conversations into outcomes: grants, proposals, collaborative ideas, improvement opportunities What You Bring Outstanding communicator who is open‑mind, inclusive, and able to engage with diverse audiences Creative, confident, and comfortable working independently while juggling multiple priorities Experience managing volunteers and financial processes, delivering measurable results Organised and efficient at handling complex tasks seamlessly Benefits Predominantly Monday‑to‑Friday role within a flexible work environment, with adaptable core hours Opportunity to lead initiatives with autonomy to work creatively Professional development and training opportunities, including specialized learning resources Monthly allocated days off Access to Employee Assistance Program for wellbeing support Optional fitness passport, salary packaging, and novated leasing options to increase take‑home pay Four weeks annual leave and fourteen weeks paid parental leave Additional Information Eligibility: only Australian citizens, permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens with a current NZ passport.
