Operations Manager – Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service (Gungahlin) Full-time | $110k–$120k + Super Are you an experienced operational leader looking for a meaningful role where no two days are the same? At CVES we are available to help critical and unwell patients when they need it most. We operate from 6pm to 8am on weeknights, and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays. Dr Rob Webster, Co‑CEO of AEA, Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care The Role This role is ideal for an experienced Operations Manager from industries including health, community services, education, logistics, or other professional services. You’ll be working closely with the Hospital Administrator to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations, continuous improvement, and a positive team environment. This role includes leadership responsibilities and oversight of key operational processes, resources, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Management of day‑to‑day clinic operations including decision making, budgeting and reporting to ensure an efficient, safe and well‑functioning workplace Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity Contribute to strategic planning and business forecasting Oversee inventory and equipment management Ensure WHS oversight and accurate reporting Supervise, coach, and manage direct reports Cultivate a collaborative and professional work culture About You 5+ years' experience in an operations, facilities, practice or service management role Strong background in people leadership, performance management and coaching Veterinary or Healthcare experience is highly desirable however not essential. Experience improving and documenting processes, systems and workflows Strong ability to drive exceptional performance and deliver operational excellence. Demonstrated planning, time management and organisational skills, particularly in managing multiple tasks and multidisciplinary issues to achieve business goals and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills to engage and build relationships with colleagues, team members and key stakeholders. Strong negotiation, influencing, and persuasion skills. Impeccable integrity, ethics, and professionalism along with empathy for others and a love of animals. A high level of dependability in all aspects of the job, including the ability to be calm and take accountability for actions.
