Speech Pathologist (Full-time/Part-time/Casual/Contractor) The Speech & Therapy Clinic – Footscray VIC The Speech & Therapy Clinic is a small team of Speech Therapists and Allied Health Assistants with an office in Footscray and who work primarily with paediatric clients from the Northern and Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Our team currently consists of 12 staff who work varied hours and days that best suit their schedule. We value total flexibility in the workplace including hours and days worked, as well as locations, depending on whether therapists choose to work in the clinic, in schools or in clients' homes. Mentoring and Support We love taking on new graduates and early career speech therapists as well as more experienced therapists and Mums returning to the workplace who are looking for flexibility and autonomy in their role. Mentoring and support is available and can take place as often as needed and fit in around your schedule both in person or via phone/telehealth. In becoming a part of our team, you will also have access to the varied experience of our therapists who bring a wealth of knowledge from their former professions and lives. Even if you've been around a while and feel like you're past the mentoring stage, we can still arrange some check-ins to help you reach whatever your professional goals are at this stage of your career. Clients All therapists have full autonomy in which clients they choose to work with and in which locations, if they choose to see mobile therapy clients. Whether you specialise in working with a certain age/area of need, or whether you're looking to branch into a new area, we aim to match the clients in our waitlist with the right professional to give clients the most effective therapy and therapists a schedule and work-life balance that is rewarding and sustainable into the future. While we primarily work with Paediatric clients, we also have a number of adolescent and adults clients on our caseload. Areas of difficulty include ASD, Global Developmental Delay, AAC, late talkers, Stuttering, Speech Sound Disorders, Language Delay, Phonological Awareness difficulties, reading and literacy, pragmatics and social skills, parent training, Professional Development at schools etc. Qualifications You will need your Bachelors or Masters of Speech Therapy and to be a full CPSP member of Speech Pathology Australia. If you are a Student Speech Pathologist looking to join our team after graduation, we are happy to discuss your suitability to work with us as an Allied Health Assistant if you are in your final semester or year of your degree. Wages We pay our therapists per client facing hour / report. We feel this is fairer as it gives total flexibility to therapists to work as many or as few hours as suits them, with no pressure to see a minimum number of clients per week (no KPIs). New graduates are paid $95 per client facing hour + superannuation. There is a travel allowance as well for mobile therapy clients. For new graduates hoping to earn $70,000 per year. They would need to see approximately 18 clients per week across a 40 week year. This equates to 3-4 client hours per day at 5 days per week, assuming 12 weeks holiday every year. Therapists are of course able to work through school holidays if they choose, or see more clients each day to have a longer weekend and generally structure their week however they choose.
