About the role As our Deputy Manager - Out of Home Care (OOHC) , you will lead a team of three Team Leaders, driving high standards, consistent practice, and operational excellence across our OOHC program. You will be accountable for the safety, wellbeing, and outcomes of over 130 children in care, overseeing operational management, risk, and compliance across multiple sites. You will make confident, independent decisions, mentor and develop leaders, and ensure a high-performing, respectful team culture that delivers exceptional outcomes for children, carers, and families. Duties Mentor, support and provide supervision for Team Leaders to achieve performance expectations, build capability, and drive high-quality outcomes for children, carers, and families. Oversee operational management , incidents, and risks across multiple teams, ensuring timely escalation and investigation of critical matters. Monitor service delivery, client plans, and outcomes to ensure alignment with program objectives, funding requirements, and best practice. Monitor compliance with OOHC standards , OCG regulations, and DCJ statutory requirements. Identify gaps in service delivery , team performance, and program operations, implementing solutions in collaboration with the Manager. Contribute to decision-making at DCJ panels and other governance forums with confidence and independence. Build and maintain a respectful, high-performing, and consistent team culture across all operational teams. Skills and Experience Degree in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology, or a related discipline. 3+ years as a Team Leader in OOHC/Child Protection, with extensive experience leading child protection and/or out of home care services to improve client outcomes. Strong operational leadership within Permanency Support Programs or DCJ out of home care, including supervising multiple Team Leaders and leading program-wide operations. Outstanding people leadership with the ability to build and develop engaged, high-performing teams. Strong management skills, including meeting/exceeding performance targets, problem solving, decision-making, and balancing priorities across multiple teams. Excellent communication, accountability, and boundary-setting skills, with experience working collaboratively across teams, peers, and stakeholders. Comfortable working across multiple hubs with travel as required (between Penrith/Liverpool/Hurstville). Why Join Us?
