Enterprise Architect

You lead enterprise architecture across a large federal government program. You align technology solutions with legislation, business outcomes, and whole of enterprise standards. You provide architectural leadership, governance, and assurance across all delivery streams. You support digital uplift and regulatory reform in a complex environment. Key responsibilities Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision aligned to business goals, legislation, and enterprise frameworks. Develop strategic IT roadmaps, architecture artefacts, standards, and patterns. Provide expert architectural advice to boards, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders. Lead architectural governance, including design reviews and endorsement of solutions. Escalate solutions with enterprise-wide impact to the Architecture Board. Partner with business analysts, solution architects, developers, and program leads to ensure alignment. Facilitate workshops to drive agreement on architecture and technical direction. Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language. Monitor emerging technologies and apply best practice to improve outcomes. Identify high-risk, high-cost, and high complexity components for ongoing assurance. Highly desirable criteria Enterprise Architect experience on large, complex programs within Australian government. Proven delivery of enterprise-wide architecture across business, data, application, and technology domains. Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and formal governance models. Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, plus integration and security patterns. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills. Experience influencing senior executives and cross-functional teams. Experience supporting regulatory or legislative reform programs. Knowledge of Commonwealth funding, disclosure, or compliance frameworks. Tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, or a related discipline. Enterprise architecture certifications such as TOGAF or Zachman. Skills and experience Enterprise architecture leadership at EL2 or equivalent level. Architecture governance, assurance, and standards development. Cloud, integration, and security architecture. Strategic planning and roadmap development. Workshop facilitation and stakeholder management. Clear written and verbal communication. Long-term contract with extension options. Hybrid working arrangements in the ACT. Senior-level influence across business and technology. Exposure to enterprise-wide architecture and governance.
