About Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be accountable for the financial health and governance of our business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape financial, drive reporting excellence, and ensure robust risk management across our three-state operation. You’ll be responsible for: Leading the finance function, including management of the Finance Officer and Administrators. Delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to State Directors and the Managing Director. Managing budgets, cash flow, and project profitability analysis. Overseeing governance, compliance, and ISO certification audits. Maintaining the enterprise risk register and financial controls. Driving systems integration and process automation. Supporting business development through tender financials and ad-hoc analysis. About You You're a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in a collaborative environment. Desired Skills and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: 10+ years' experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of success. Sound decision making skills based on accurate and timely analyses. Results oriented and metrics driven. Exceptional time management and able to solve problems. Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels. Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA. Strong report writing skills being able to present and articulate a broad range of issues and technical advice. Exceptional personal presentation. Proven organisational skills – organising your own and other people’s workloads; and An outgoing personality with the ability to think outside the box. Role The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial management of Nutbrook Group. The role performs a wide range of responsibilities which include, but are not limited to: People Management: Management of direct reports (Finance Officer, Administrator(s)). Responsibility for team development, performance management, and succession planning. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function. Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the State Directors and Managing Director for State Budgets (Forecast to Actuals), profitability of projects, State P&Ls, preparation of reports for the Managing Director, and Provide reporting for quarterly Business Performance Review (BPR) meetings, monthly Sales meetings, and maintain agreed business operating rhythms. Governance and Compliance: Coordinate with external tax accountants to ensure all ATO lodgements are made on time. Work with the external tax accountant to complete annual statutory financial reporting. ISO certification: Oversee the quarterly internal ISO audit reviews, with the objective of ensuring all areas are covered, and to identify/treat any areas that could cause an external audit finding, and coordinate the annual ISO external audit. Risk: Maintaining the Risk Register for the entire business, for review by the State Directors and Managing Director. Ensuring the business has appropriate financial controls. Finance (general): Develop and Manage the 12-monthly budgets (with input from Managing Director and State Directors) and then undertake a 6-month review. Perform regular expense audits to identify unnecessary spending. Assist the State Directors and Managing Director with financial insights and input. Manage the company’s banking and cash flow. Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure all expenditures are reconciled correctly. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Ensure all finance processes are documented and improvements are considered and implemented. Systems and Technology Oversee selection, implementation, and optimisation of financial management systems. Ensure integration between financial systems and project management platforms. Drive automation of financial processes where appropriate. Develop business intelligence dashboards and analytics capabilities. Additional Responsibilities Support State Directors with tender and proposal financial components. Support State Directors with the management of client contracts. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for business development opportunities. Coordinate with external advisors on tax planning and structuring.
