The Role We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to deliver critical SAN data migration and broader infrastructure uplift projects within a Defence environment. This role focuses on migrating data across Dell SAN and server platforms, implementing secure storage solutions, and ensuring compliance with Defence security and accreditation standards. You will work closely with technical and program teams to design, migrate, and optimise infrastructure solutions underpinning highly sensitive environments. This is a hands-on role with significant technical depth, involving new deployments and the secure transition of legacy systems. Key Details Contract: 6 months, with two optional 6-month extensions Location: Canberra (on-site in a Defence environment) Key Responsibilities Lead and execute SAN data migration activities across Dell SAN environments. Install, configure, and maintain Dell hardware, including servers, storage, and associated infrastructure. Collaborate with Defence stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, compliant, and timely migration outcomes. Develop and maintain documentation for migration processes, system configurations, and risk mitigations. Support incident response, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation for storage and compute environments. Ensure all infrastructure changes comply with PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight security requirements. Contribute to system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of core infrastructure components. Provide technical expertise and support for broader infrastructure uplift projects, including integration of sensitive systems. What You’ll Need Proven experience in SAN administration, data migration, and infrastructure engineering. Strong knowledge of Dell storage and server platforms. Familiarity with Defence or highly regulated environments, with a focus on security compliance. Ability to work on-site in a secure facility and meet clearance requirements. Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
