Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Program: Mental Health Services Job Function: Allied Health Professionals Project: Occupational Therapist Location: Sunshine Hospital Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term (until January 2028) Salary: Grade 1 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging About the role The Sunshine Mental Health & Wellbeing Centre (SMHWC) is a purpose-built facility with two 26 bed units. This role is in Unit 3 at the SMHWC. The Graduate OT role will join the existing Grade 2 and Grade 3 Occupational Therapy workforce, work directly with consumers and their family, carers and supporters to provide evidence-based discipline specific assessment and interventions and contribute to the multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellent care and support of consumers. This role will be part of the Western Health Mental Health Allied Health Graduate Program and will join with other graduate OTs and Social Workers attending a monthly full day of professional development and group supervision. Weekly supervision is provided for the first 3 months, and longer as needed, and individual sessions with an OT clinical educator focused on mental health OT competencies are also part of the graduate program. This role works closely with the peer workforce and other disciplines in supporting the activity and participation needs of consumers on the units, including both group and individual intervention approaches. About you Build a therapeutic alliance with the consumer and family/carers and maximise participation in collaborative recovery and wellness planning Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team, to provide high quality, evidence-based interventions that support consumers with complex mental health needs in the acute setting Provide Occupational Assessments inclusive of Functional Capacity assessments to identify occupational performance issues and Sensory modulation preferences Contribute to planning, facilitating and evaluating the group program Compensation and benefits Competitive salary packages aligned with market standards.
