Network Operator (Traffic Control Operations) 7‑month casual position based in Sydney. Full availability required, including weekends and public holidays, as our roads operate 24/7. We create city‑size solutions building and operating safer, smarter and more sustainable roads to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down. Day‑to‑day responsibilities Work with different control systems to monitor and manage traffic on open roads and in tunnels. Operate Automated Height Detectors, Road Management systems, CCTV, Automatic Incident Detection Systems – gain depth of knowledge of these systems. Collaborate with field staff, emergency services and your team to act swiftly to respond to incidents, contain the event and keep everyone safe. Create Incident Management and Traffic Management plans to ensure roads run efficiently and safely when situations arise. Apply curiosity to think bigger and find new ways to improve our processes, traffic management and make recommendations. Collate real‑time information on road conditions for stakeholders, media and customers to avoid surprises. Maintain rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices and procedures, including operational systems. Qualifications & experience Experience in a monitoring centre or operational environment. Computer‑smart and analytical, fascinated with new technology and systems – willing to dive in. Driven, resilient and efficient, showing confidence and professionalism no matter the challenge. Organised, efficient and decisive when prioritising tasks while juggling multiple responsibilities. Skilled in writing reports and knowing which details are important for smooth operation. Experienced with shift work; you are comfortable working 24/7. We offer flexible working and leave options.
