Work an attractive fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) roster from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns or a drive-in/drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night. This roster is 8/6 (dayshift only) and a 12 hour shift. About the role Reporting to the Senior – Medium Term Planning Engineer (Scheduling), you’ll own the 1-3 year budget mining scheduling, whilst maintaining delivery of the monthly short‑range forecast. You’ll collaborate with Long‑Term Planning, Operations and other Technical Service teams to ensure that mine plans are practical, achievable and aligned with our broader business objectives. In this role you will: Own, manage and deliver the rolling 12‑month schedule, delivery monthly short‑range forecast schedules. Review operational performance and engage with associated stakeholders to ensure alignment on schedule inputs, whilst working closely with short‑term planning and production engineers. Integrate optimised mine designs and ensure alignment with the Life‑of‑Mine (LOM) plan. Identify and communicate key schedule risks, updating and maintaining critical path packs. Continuously improve mine planning systems, guidelines and processes, embracing best practice and innovation. Collaborate on project work with Long‑Term Planning and Group teams, including alternate ore source studies. This role is key to ensuring that Ernest Henry’s operations run to plan and stay on track to deliver our production and safety goals. About you You’re a technically capable and forward‑thinking mining engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and turning plans into practical outcomes. You thrive in a collaborative team and are motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact on one of Australia’s leading underground operations. You’ll bring: A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Strong technical and operational mining experience (preferably in sub‑level caving or similar). Proven skills in mine planning, scheduling and design, with high proficiency in Deswik and related software. A structured approach to critical path management and schedule optimisation. Clear communication skills – verbal, written and graphical – with the ability to engage effectively across teams.
