Senior Advisor, Prevention Policy and Influence Respect Victoria (RV) is a Statutory Authority under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018. We have a broad focus on the primary prevention of family violence and violence against women in Victoria, and collaboratively work with stakeholders to provide state-wide leadership to create social, institutional, organisational and community change. The role The Senior Advisor, Prevention Policy and Influence will be responsible for developing and delivering evidence-based policy positions and projects to drive thought leadership in the prevention of violence against women and/or family violence. As a key member of the Prevention Policy and Influence Team, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engaging with government and the family violence prevention sector. Key Accountabilities Lead, develop and deliver evidence-based policy and position papers, projects, briefings, reports, submissions and communications for public positioning and advocacy Translate evidence into policy and thought leadership, considering levers for change and inform evidence-based policy and investment advice to government Review, analyse and report on high priority issues, risks and opportunities using an intersectional feminist lens Pro-actively build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and work collaboratively and respectfully with others to support organisational priorities Manage policy projects and work with and manage contractors as required Key Selection Criteria Values: Alignment with the values of RV and the Victorian Public SectorRole and organisational alignment: Relevant qualifications and experience in public policy development, gender-based violence prevention and/or advocacyPolicy design and development: Keeps up to date with a broad range of contemporary issues. Formulates and communicates public policy options and recommendations. Develops a clear narrative for the policies and business cases including clear problem definition and objectives. Considers impact of policy to strategic plans, community needs, complementing programs and policies across the statePolitical and organisational context: Uses formal and informal influencing relationships and decision-making processes. Ensures solutions or actions adhere to values, ethics, responsibilities, legal obligations and limits that apply to RVStakeholder management: Identifies issues in common for one or more clients or stakeholders and uses them to build mutually beneficial partnerships. Identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needsProject delivery: Translates strategies into programs or projects that enables achievement of outcomes required. Defines governance required to manage risks and maximise probability of success. Coordinates and guides others in the execution of work activities.
