Maintenance Fitter

Victoria Carpets is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Fitter (Mechanical) to join our team in East Bendigo, VIC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and productivity across our facilities. What You’ll Be Doing Possible requirement to work across all 3 shifts, some weekend work and be on a call‑out roster. Performing preventative maintenance, planned servicing and reactive repairs on a range of mechanical equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with machinery, identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and asset condition. Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to minimise equipment downtime and maximise operational efficiency. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our maintenance practices and procedures. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations. What We’re Looking For Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related Trades discipline is preferred but not necessarily essential. Extensive experience as a Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Technician, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically and devise practical solutions. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with production staff and management. A proactive, safety‑focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Australian work rights are required for this position.
