R&D Technologist

An Australian-owned food manufacturer with a strong national retail and foodservice footprint is seeking a talented R&D Technologist to lead innovation and new product development across a diverse, fast-moving portfolio. You’ll join a collaborative team that values creativity, technical rigour, and a shared passion for delivering exceptional food. The Opportunity Lead end-to-end product development from concept through to full commercialisation. Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to bring new ideas to life. Explore new ingredients, packaging formats, and shelf-life improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency. Apply strong knowledge of FSANZ, HACCP, and GMP to ensure all innovation meets safety and compliance standards. Mentor and coach junior technologists, fostering a positive and high-performing culture. Contribute to a multi-year innovation pipeline with a focus on quality, sustainability, and consumer trends. About You Degree-qualified in Food Technology, Food Science, or Chemical Engineering. 5+ years’ experience within FMCG or food manufacturing, ideally with exposure to bakery, snack, or value-added foods. Strong understanding of formulation, trials, process scale-up and launch delivery. Confident working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. A creative problem-solver who thrives on balancing innovation with commercial practicality.
