Apprentice Horticulture City of Newcastle, Australia. Become an Apprentice with the City of Newcastle (CN) and combine on-the-job learning with structured training. This is a 4-year fixed-term contract within our Open Space Operations team, where you will gain exposure to all elements of horticulture through on-the-job training and technical training. Earn a Certificate III in Horticulture. Experience on-the-job learning and training. Kick start your career with one of Newcastle’s largest employers. Responsibilities: Work in conjunction with highly experienced Field Supervisors and Coordinators, focusing on a variety of projects. Acquire skills in planting and pruning trees, shrubs and other plants. Operate basic machinery and maintain irrigation systems. Identify and control weeds, pests and diseases. What to Expect: 4-year fixed-term contract. Learns in a supportive environment while working outdoors.
