Position As the Programs and Engagement Coordinator, you’ll play a key leadership role in bringing our libraries to life. You’ll lead a dedicated team to deliver inclusive, innovative and engaging programs, events and outreach that reflect and respond to the needs of our diverse community. Your Responsibilities Designing and delivering a wide range of in-house and community programs Driving engagement projects that evolve collections and services Leading major projects with strong planning, evaluation and implementation skills Preparing high-quality reports, business cases and presentations to support Council decision-making Building partnerships and networks to strengthen community connections Staying ahead of trends and developments in the library sector and local issues This role is primarily based at Whitlam Library, Cabramatta, with work at other locations as required. The position participates in the Library Roster, with ordinary hours between 8.00 am and 9.00 pm, Monday to Sunday, in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023. About You You’re a passionate and strategic library professional who thrives on collaboration and innovation. You bring: Proven experience in program development and team leadership Strong project management and analytical skills A creative and adaptable mindset Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities A commitment to service excellence and community impact Essential Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science (LIS) conferring eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or equivalent. A minimum of five years’ experience in public libraries, with demonstrated success in program management and community engagement. Current NSW driver’s licence. Desirable Experience working within Local Government. Experience in areas such as event management, marketing, or related fields is considered an asset. Salary & Employment Conditions Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight Grade 8, salary range is $114,499 p.a. with progression to $126,385 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $134,121 p.a., plus 12% Super Flexible working hours are available.
