Support Specialist (L2) – Linux Infrastructure and Application Specialist Vault Cloud – Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Salary: A$65,000.00 – A$80,000.00 Vault Cloud is the national leader in providing highly secure and scalable sovereign hyperscale cloud capability to the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community, and Critical Infrastructure sector. We pioneered the development of Australia’s only sovereign, hyperscale cloud with security at its core, being one of the first cloud organisations to be Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) certified, and we continue to drive innovation, delivering first‑of‑a‑kind capability across the sector. With a strategic $22.5 million investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC), Vault is scaling its SECRET Cloud and introducing new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia’s strategic national security demands. To support this growth, we are bolstering our capability by adding key roles that are integral to our future success. Responsibilities Support, maintain and enhance the configuration of hardware and software infrastructure components underpinning Vault’s critical hyperscale cloud regions. Apply subject‑matter expertise to provide prompt first‑rate support to all of Vault’s hyperscale cloud regions and customers. Collaborate with Product Owners and work within cross‑functional engineering teams to innovate, design and support advanced infrastructure solutions. Take on complex technical issues that require specialist knowledge and experience to resolve. Keep records and documentation up to date and reflective of current configuration and processes. Work within Vault’s Corporate Governance Policies and ITIL‑based support and change management systems. Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the business, particularly operational processes, procedures and functions. Communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and proactively contribute to team success. Qualifications Australian Government Security Clearance is required; applicants must be Australian citizens and able to obtain and maintain the required clearance. High‑level proficiency with Linux operating systems. Hands‑on experience with enterprise server infrastructure and maintenance. Experience with enterprise storage solutions—block and object storage. Automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins. Previous experience with OpenStack and components (e.g., Swift, Ceph, Keystone) is highly regarded but not essential. Participation in rotating on‑call roster. Experience working in operational environments, including: ITSM environments using tools such as Jira. DevSecOps workflows via CI/CD pipelines, e.g., GitLab.
