Horizons College is an independent Special Assistance School based in Caboolture that is committed to assisting those young people for whom mainstream education has not been meaningful. The school, which offers a relevant curriculum, including vocational education and training, features small class sizes, daily one‑on‑one support, flexible learning environments and a positive educational experience for its students. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automotive Trainer (or a qualified mechanic looking to transition into a Trainer/Assessor role) to deliver quality training to students in the following courses: AUR20720 - Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation AUR21920 - Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology We are looking for an innovative Trainer who can demonstrate an ability to build positive relationships and employ a variety of engaging training methods to effectively meet the learning needs of all students. Main Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver training and assessment to produce a high level learning experience for all students enrolled in the above courses Conduct regular audits of workshop resources and oversee the servicing and maintenance of equipment Accurately maintain records of student progress and assessment Liaise with industry to determine current needs and ensure best practice Essential Skills and Qualifications TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40116 Current experience in the automotive industry Competent in the use of computers/devices and software applications including Word, Excel and Outlook The school employs trainers who are actively engaged in industry practice whilst teaching, giving students insight into current industry processes and trends. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Trainer and Assessor with a strong passion and enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge and experience in the Automotive industry. You will be effective and engaging in the delivery of training and assessment and be diligent in maintaining all assessment and report documentation for students in the course.
