Early Learning Victoria's central office is part of the Victorian Department of Education and is leading the roll‑out of the 50 centres. The central team will support and oversee centre operations once they open. Staff in the Early Learning Victoria centres will be part of a new Victorian government‑employed early childhood workforce. Location Profile Early Childhood Educator (Diploma) – Casual positions available at Early Learning Victoria Salary band: $69,692 – $75,417 + 25% casual loading We are hiring casuals across our Regional North centres including the newly opened Eaglehawk location in 2025, and three new centres in Numurkah, Shepparton & Wedderburn opening in 2026. You will help create a positive learning environment that facilitates rich interaction and supports children's social, emotional and cognitive development. You will build positive, respectful and collaborative relationships with families, children and colleagues, ensuring an inclusive environment where each child's learning and development needs are met and the service's policies and regulatory standards are maintained. Capabilities High Quality Practice: Coordinate an environment where children can flourish and thrive, supported by evidence‑informed pedagogy that upholds all elements of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and the National Quality Standards. Delegate tasks to team members consistent with qualifications to manage workload efficiently. Demonstrate regular reflective practice strategies and provide constructive feedback to staff. Compliance and Child Safety: Have a high‑level understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standards, Child Protection and Child Safe Standards, Approved Frameworks and all Early Learning Victoria policies and procedures. Ensure these are embedded in centre practices and adhered to by team members. Educational Delivery: Develop, deliver and coordinate integrated teaching and learning strategies guided by each child’s individual learning and development needs. Encourage reflective practice with all members of the team to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices. Complete documentation of children's learning in line with organisational philosophy and evaluate the impact of teaching practices on learning. Play an active role in providing clear communication with families regarding their child’s development. Effective communication and relationship‑building skills with staff, children, families and communities. Experience working with vulnerable children and families is desirable. Specific skills/qualifications required: ACECQA approved Diploma level qualification or actively working towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Valid Employee Working with Children Check. Willingness to consent to a Police Check (to be arranged by Early Learning Victoria). International Police Check required if resident outside of Australia for 12 months or more during the last 10 years. First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications.
