About the role This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis working 3 consecutive days / week (21 hours). Location: Uniting's Counselling and Mediation Centre in Penrith. Availability required: Thursdays 10am – 6pm, and Tuesdays & Wednesdays 9am – 5pm. Job Summary: As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), you’ll provide Family Dispute Resolution to families’ post-separation who are experiencing various levels of conflict and are unable to reach agreements about children or property. You will work with a dynamic team of FDRPs and therapists to support families holistically. About You Accredited by the Australian Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, or eligible for accreditation. Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology or social work. An understanding of the process and purpose of child inclusive mediation practice. Knowledge of family law legislation. Knowledge and understanding of community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties. Understanding of child protection issues. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contribute to the functioning of the team. Excellent communication, organisational and writing skills. Computer literacy.
