If you don\'t see an opportunity in your area, please call or email Job Description HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. Help faith bloom One cuppa, one prayer and one heartfeltchat at a time. We are seeking a pastoral care volunteer to spend one hour each week with a gentle and faith filled woman who would truly value spiritual companionship. Originally from Egypt and a former school teacher, she finds joy in her garden, her family, and her love for Jesus. She is hoping for someone to talk with, read the Bible, and pray alongside her, bringing comfort and encouragement during this meaningful season of her life. Be the blessing she has been praying for. Apply now to walk beside her in faith and friendship You\’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs Responsibilities Spend approximately one hour each week with a client to provide spiritual companionship. Skills and Qualifications High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training—Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Your impact Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
