It’s summertime and we have a permanent part‑time Lifeguard position available at Parramatta Aquatic Centre (PAC), which was awarded Aquatic Facility of the Year at the 2025 Royal Life Saving Awards Gala – The Aquas. PAC is a new fitness, wellness and relaxation hub featuring five pools, including an outdoor Olympic‑sized centrepiece, an indoor water playground, spa, steam and sauna facilities, a fitness centre, and a public café. About the Role This position is responsible for supervising bodies of water, ensuring the facility is clean and safe, and allowing the venue to provide services in a safe manner. Daily Responsibilities Supervise bodies of water to ensure compliance with centre policy and industry standards. Monitor and control the activities of hirers and the public within the pools and facility. Assist with monitoring and maintenance of all filtration, recirculation, and chemical dosing equipment. Ensure consistent high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and security within the pool surrounds. Ensure correct use, proper storage, and security of all pool equipment and chemicals. Perform pool rescues and first‑aid procedures when required. About You The successful candidate should have a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work. Flexibility and willingness to work a 7‑day rotating roster are also required. Required Qualifications Current Australian Pool Lifeguard Certificate Current Australian First Aid (Level 2) and CPR Certificate NSW Working with Children Check Desired Experience and Skills Previous experience in a comparable role. Ability to identify safety hazards associated with the operation of aquatic facilities and programs. Capacity and willingness to gain knowledge of pool plant and equipment and aquatic industry standards. Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS, and ethical practice principles. Knowledge of crowd management techniques. Ability to carry out ongoing asset and equipment maintenance.
