Overview GEBIE Civil and Construction (GCC) is the commercial subsidiary of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE). GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment. We have an opportunity for an experienced Batch Plant Manager to join the GCC team and work in the community in a wide-ranging role. This is a preferred residential role, however, will also be available as a FIFO position from Cairns or Darwin. Responsibilities Extensive knowledge of concrete products, mix designs and their performance limitations across a wide range of applications Meet customer requirements by ensuring quality product delivered Accurate batching of orders to meet the requirements of specified mix designs Accurate batching of orders utilising the JONEL computer system Allocation of trucks ensuring timely concrete deliveries Undertake batch plant administration including stock control of raw materials Support the Civil Manager with scheduling maintenance for all P&E and trucks Ensure pre-starts are completed daily by all personnel and maintenance records are updated Day to day administration of batch site General yard and plant housekeeping and maintenance Follow company systems including working safely Qualifications & Skills Knowledge and experience in computerised batching system is essential An ability to multitask and at times work under pressure Possess an excellent customer service phone manner Construction White Card Front End Loader ticket Possess excellent time management and organisational skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills A proven ability to work within a team environment Current HR driver's licence would be an advantage This role will work closely with our Civil Department; previous civil construction exposure is advantageous What we offer for our Residential Role Work/life balance, working Monday to Friday Housing and services provided in Alyangula, Groote Eylandt Relocation assistance provided Full private use of a vehicle, mobile phone and laptop supplied Holiday Travel allowance (HTA) of $7,000 per annum 5 weeks annual leave + 1-week additional Christmas shutdown leave Access to golf, fishing, gyms, pool, tennis, squash, dining venues and supermarket A friendly and supportive work culture with training and development opportunities What we offer for our FIFO Role Accommodation and meals are provided at the Groote Eylandt 4-star Lodge, with a resort-style pool, a modern bar and restaurant, exercise facilities and waterfront rooms 5 weeks annual leave + 1-week additional Christmas shutdown leave Annual bonus Access to golf, fishing, gyms, pool, tennis, squash, dining venues and supermarket A friendly and supportive work culture with training and development opportunities Sunday is a non-workday which allows you time to explore the pristine coastline and remote fishing and camping recreational areas To apply, please upload your Cover Letter and Resume to SEEK.
