Responsibilities Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients through group‑based activities in home and community centres. Provide spiritual support and pastoral care services to clients and family members, person‑centred, faith‑based, inclusive and trauma‑informed. Offer pastoral support to employees via group and debriefing sessions, and one‑to‑one when appropriate. Prepare spiritual celebrations for special days of remembrance, recognising diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Prepare prayers and moments of reflection to share with clients, family members and employees. Provide one‑to‑one pastoral care to clients on a transitional basis. Facilitate pastoral care volunteers to support clients and build community relationships. Deliver pastoral care support to residents and families when entering palliative or end‑of‑life care, aligned with their preferences. Support teams and families to access bereavement services after the loss of a resident or client. Facilitate pastoral and spiritual visits from various faith ministers. Ensure continuity of spiritual care as clients move into facilities or hospitals. Qualifications Cert IV or Diploma in Pastoral Care, Counselling, Chaplaincy or similar theology/spirituality qualifications. Strong personal spirituality within a Christian‑based community (Catholic or similar denomination). In‑depth knowledge of Catholic faith, Christian spirituality, dignity of life and aged care. Commitment to supporting the pastoral/spiritual needs of the sick, elderly and families. Prior experience in aged care or vulnerable community settings. Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and mental‑health best practices. Professional and respectful relationships with residents, clients and families. Time‑management and prioritisation skills. Registered and insured driver with an unrestricted Australian driver’s licence. Benefits Competitive hourly rate and km reimbursement (99c per km, paid travel time). Not‑for‑profit tax benefits.
