As Specialist, Investment Risk and Performance, you’ll provide expert analysis and reporting to optimise the balance between investment return, balance sheet risk, and capital objectives. Working closely with the Principal, you’ll deliver independent risk and performance insights, challenge existing processes, and contribute to the development of market-leading strategies. This role requires strong quantitative skills, deep investment knowledge, and the ability to drive automation as we expand across entities. You’ll play a key role in improving efficiency, enhancing risk governance, and supporting strategic decision‑making. This is a permanent full‑time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne). What You’ll Do Deliver independent risk reporting at group and entity level, including RAS/KRIs, policy metrics, and exposure analysis. Provide independent performance reporting against objectives, budgets, and market benchmarks. Develop and maintain market best‑practice attribution for performance reporting. Support continuous improvement of processes, tools, and trade effectiveness, including ALM and FX hedging. Apply market and insurance risk perspectives to inform ALM, SAA, and liquidity strategies. Identify and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency and scalability. What You’ll Bring Solid experience in investment risk or performance roles within consulting, insurance, or financial institutions. Strong technical expertise in financial instrument risk and valuation methodologies. Advanced quantitative skills with experience in stochastic modelling of market variables. Proven ability to develop market risk management strategies and challenge assumptions. Knowledge of financial regulations relevant to insurance investment activities. Proficiency in programming and automation tools (Excel VBA, Python, R, C#, SQL).
