About the role The Management Accountant is a permanent, full‑time position based at our Pinjarra office and offers you the chance to play a pivotal role in financial governance to meet regulatory obligations, managing and mentoring a small team within the finance department, overseeing the financial operations of the business whilst supporting operational efficiency and informed decision‑making across the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you will collaborate closely with Coordinators, Supervisors and Administration team members to drive business success and in providing relevant, timely, insightful, and accurate financial and non‑financial information to assist management in planning, decision‑making, performance evaluation, and control of the business. What you’ll do As a Management Accountant within our highly regarded business, you will be entrusted with delivering high‑quality financial information that underpins key business decisions. You will provide critical support in financial reporting, cost analysis, and operational decision‑making. Your role will help streamline processes and ensure the financial integrity of a fast‑paced environment. You will take ownership of budgeting processes—ensuring projections are accurate—and use your advanced modelling skills to forecast future outcomes under different scenarios. By integrating data from various sources across the business, you will create valuable insights that inform departmental strategies. Your role also involves supporting essential finance activities across the business, audit preparations, and asset management enhancements to drive business success. Key Duties / Responsibilities Champion and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to reduce risk, strengthen business governance and enhance performance across the business. Provide leadership and direction to the finance team and operations teams to ensure streamlined, best‑practice finance processes. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with accounting standards and compliance requirements. Ensure all compliance obligations are met, including BAS, Superannuation, and other statutory requirements. Support compliance processes, including payroll tax and BAS lodgement with external accountant. Prepare and review comprehensive internal and external financial reports to support both compliance requirements and strategic decision‑making processes. Analyse complex financial data, monitor daily costs and trends to identify areas for improvement in performance while recommending practical solutions to address any issues. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced operational efficiency through thorough analysis of expenditure patterns. Implement activity‑based costing measures to provide deeper insights into service performance and drive continuous improvement. Support regular finance processes including billing activities, month‑end close procedures, audit preparation materials, and asset management improvements. Deliver accurate and timely management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Assist in the development of financial models and scenario planning. Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes. Support the company’s capex and investment projects including asset purchasing and disposal. Conduct variance analysis and identify key business drivers. Partner with Directors and department teams to drive cost control and performance. Lead the budgeting process and manage periodic forecasts across departments. What you bring Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or related discipline. Minimum 5‑7 years in a senior accounting role. CPA/CA/CMA qualified or working towards certification preferred. Manage time effectively by prioritising tasks efficiently so that deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality or accuracy. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to colleagues across all levels of the business and into actionable insights. Demonstrated ability to anticipate emerging trends and implement effective strategies that enhance stability, efficiency, and sustainable business performance through informed analysis and timely decision‑making. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Demonstrated experience in management accounting, reporting, and financial analyses. Proficient in MS Suite, MYOB and advanced Excel skills. Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Meticulous attention to detail and problem‑solving capabilities.
