We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead – Education to join our committed team. Schools Plus is a national not for profit improving the education outcomes of students facing disadvantage by increasing philanthropic support for their schools. We want to help close the education gap in Australia, by eliminating disadvantage as a factor in student achievement. This is a Sydney based, full-time permanent position (1 FTE). The Role: Define clear objectives and targets for all educational pillars and support the development of the 2026 work plans for the team. Contribute to the development of the Schools Plus coaching approach by reviewing current approach, identifying growth areas and developing a comprehensive coaching framework (including an online version). Supervise and support Schools Plus coaches, identify training needs, lead professional learning sessions, and coach up to four school partnership projects. Work closely with the Administration Officer to refine coaching processes, procedures, and systems for efficiency. Collaborate with the Director and across teams to create and implement an organisation-wide strategy for Aboriginal engagement within school partnerships. Assist in reviewing and refining the school partnership processes, including presentations, application, and reporting processes. Lead national research to inform and update all contexts within each strategic pillar, providing new insights and identifying emerging opportunities to deepen impact and extend reach. Oversee the Teaching Fellows Alumni Program, driving engagement and positive long‑term outcomes for past Teaching Award recipients. Participate in state and territory education stakeholder meetings and contribute to reporting and updates on educational outcomes and opportunities. Work closely with the fundraising team to support the development of donor proposals, including the contribution of research on the need and impact delivered through current and potential school partnerships. Qualifications & Experience Education qualifications, with at least two years of recent experience in a leadership role in a school setting. Current knowledge of the Australian curriculum and well‑versed in school‑based programs. A strategic mindset, with the ability to set clear objectives and targets for various strategic pillars and projects. Experience in designing and leading coaching frameworks and supporting professional learning and development for educational coaches. The ability to work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders within and outside the organisation to improve processes and achieve education goals. A research-driven approach, with the capacity to conduct research and analysis, reporting on new information, opportunities, and partnerships. A passion for leading programs that enhance alumni engagement and foster long‑term educational success. Some experience working with First Nations communities and a deep understanding of their cultural and educational needs. Experience in non-profit organisations working with education initiatives. A strong understanding of partnership development and managing cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated success in leading and improving educational coaching models.
