Task & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities for the Role Collection, Processing, and Reporting of Financial Data
Oversee the collection, organization, and processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial transactions to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Generate detailed reports on financial activities, highlighting key trends and variances for management review. Maintaining Accounting Integrity
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting information and records within the project. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial data and maintain compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Preparation of Monthly Financial Accounts
Compile and prepare comprehensive financial accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a monthly basis. Collaborate with project teams to explain variances and provide insights to support informed decision-making. Reconciliations
Conduct detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain accurate financial reporting. BAS Reporting
Prepare and submit accurate Business Activity Statements (BAS) to ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations. Keep abreast of changes in tax laws to ensure timely and compliant reporting. Accounts Receivable and Payable Management
Oversee and manage accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments. Maintain accurate records of transactions and manage cash flow effectively. Enhancement and Maintenance of Financial Systems and Procedures
Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability. Document and maintain clear policies and guidelines for financial operations. Fixed Asset Management
Assist in the management of fixed assets, including tracking asset additions, disposals, and depreciation. Ensure that fixed asset records are up-to-date and aligned with financial reporting requirements. Job Costing Analysis
Support project teams by conducting detailed job costing analysis to monitor project expenses and profitability. Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost control and project financial performance. These responsibilities require a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support the successful financial management of the project.
Qualification & Experience The successful candidate will have:
A recognised bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or equivalent At least five years of relevant work experience Experience working on large scale construction or similar projects White Card Knowledge of SAP Proficient in MS Office Banking System knowledge Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
