Estimator - Residential Construction

A growing residential construction business is seeking an experienced Estimator to support project cost planning from concept design through to tender submission. This role suits someone who understands residential building methods, enjoys detailed cost work and can deliver accurate pricing across a high-volume project mix. You will prepare estimates, interpret drawings, engage suppliers and subcontractors, and support cost control through the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential homes and related building works Review architectural drawings, engineering plans and specifications to assess scope Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source accurate pricing Analyse risks, recommend cost‑saving opportunities and support value engineering Maintain tender documentation, estimating databases and pricing schedules Provide cost control support during construction and monitor budget performance Work closely with construction managers, site supervisors and design teams Skills and Experience Minimum 3 years estimating experience in residential construction Proficient in estimating software such as Buildsoft, CostX, Databuild or PlanSwift Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards and construction methods Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail Confident communication and negotiation skills Certificate IV in Building and Construction Estimating or equivalent qualification preferred WHS White Card required Why This Role Stands Out Stable residential pipeline with consistent estimating workload Strong salary and long‑term career progression Supportive team environment with modern systems and software How to Apply Submit your CV outlining your residential estimating experience and software capability.
