The OpportunityWe are seeking an innovative and strategic Resource Manager, based in either Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.As an integral member of a globally networked Resource Management function, you will drive effective work allocation, whilst balancing the needs of our clients, the business and the career aspirations and wellbeing of our people.Key focus areas include, but are not limited to:Solve complex work allocation challenges and anticipate business demands, advising on solutions and preventative measures.Build trusted relationships with lawyers and partners in the practice group.Optimise work allocation by continuously monitoring the matter pipeline and smoothing utilisation levels where needed.Provide tailored management insights on resourcing, utilisation, and wellbeing to practice group partners.Attend management and senior leadership meetings to present on workflow, ongoing needs, challenges, utilisation levels, and the current/future state of the resourcing function.Receive all secondment requests (both internal and external) and manage the staffing process end-to-end, liaising with Client Relationship Managers on panel agreements.Develop a good understanding of alternative talent pools to resolve resourcing shortfalls.End-to-end support for the Graduate rotation program, actively managing allocations, supply/demand and expectations on behalf of the practice group.Proactively support the change management and embedding of the Resource Management function in the practice group.Drive the adoption of work allocation technology, ensuring tools and processes are maintained and globally aligned.Actively contribute to the overall Resource Management strategy to help the firm achieve its objectives.To be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrable experience in building strategic relationships at all levels.Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, adept at influencing senior stakeholders and fostering connections while providing support across all levels within the group.Demonstrable experience in data analysis, planning, forecasting, trend spotting, mitigating risks, and reporting.Excellent IT skills/experience working with resource management software.Distinctive ownership skills, with the ability to drive tasks and the change agenda independently.Ability to act quickly under tight deadlines.Strong presentation and leadership speaking skills.Prior experience in Resource Management, ideally within a large professional services or legal environment.What you can expect from us:We're a world leading international law firm with a global team of over 5,000 professionals.
