The Division of Maternity Services provides antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for over 7000 women birthing annually. It does so through a range of models of care, which are all designed to be patient-centred, with an explicit focus on continuity, multidisciplinary input and shared decision making. As one of the nation’s busiest tertiary referral perinatal centres, the Women’s is able to care for the full spectrum of risk in pregnancy, from straightforward gestations to those with complex maternal and fetal conditions. About The Role We are recruiting for Birth Centre (must be available for weekday and weekend on-call), Caesarean lists, Specialty Antenatal clinics and General Antenatal clinics. Fixed Term – 02/02/2026 – 31/01/2027 2 sessions of General Antenatal clinics – fixed term with view to ongoing. 1 session a month Complex Caesarean list – fixed term with view to ongoing. This position is responsible in collaboration with the Clinical Directors and Heads of Unit/ Team Leaders for: Providing high quality outpatient and in-patient Obstetric clinical services Participation in the provision of emergency on-call obstetric services to the Royal Women’s Playing an active role in training registrars and resident medical officers and participate in the teaching of medical students and other health care trainees attached to the Women’s. Participating in quality improvement initiatives, including guideline review Assisting the heads of Units with some administrative and quality improvement responsibilities About You The role requires: A medical practitioner who is eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Proven clinical skills and experience in tertiary-level antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal obstetric care Our Benefits At the Women’s you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
