Senior Contract Officer - Flexible Queensland Government The Senior Contract Officer sits in a team of up to 12 contract management staff who are responsible for leading the contractual relationship between non‑government service providers and the Department to ensure funded services are delivering high quality and culturally safe supports to young people who are in or are at risk of entering the youth justice system. The contract management team provides services from a large number of diverse organisations to support individuals, families and communities. Investment is administered across the state through six regions by a centralised office function. The team works closely with suppliers, government agencies and other industry stakeholders to monitor and ensure the delivery of contracted quality services across youth justice and community services to support investment through contract administration and management. Responsibilities Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Contribute to and/or participate in end‑to‑end procurement processes in accordance with the department's governance and approval processes. Establish, negotiate, manage and monitor contracts with a diverse range of suppliers and ensure compliance with legislation, contracts, investment specifications and departmental policies and procedures, through a relationship‑based approach. Monitor delivery of the contract and work closely with suppliers to identify and resolve performance and/or financial reporting matters. Provide authoritative advice on issues in relation to service provider performance to relevant management. Support and provide advice to the Manager and Director in relation to legislation, compliance, financial and legal issues on contracted service delivery. Establish and maintain respectful, culturally safe and productive working relationships with a diverse range of funded service providers, Youth Justice regional representatives and central office staff. Undertake projects that contribute to innovative and improved procurement outcomes to address the needs of vulnerable individuals, families and communities. Lead and contribute to internal and external stakeholder engagement to support procurement and project outcomes. Professionally represent the department at meetings and forums with key stakeholders and service providers. Prepare briefs, plans, quotes, correspondence and other departmental reports in a timely and professional manner, consistent with departmental guidelines. Location: Flexible (not Brisbane City).
