About the Role Student Support Services works with schools and preschools to provide support to assist them in meeting the needs of all children. This role requires the incumbent to participate in implementing a service model that supports integrated and targeted services for children and young people with additional needs. You will work with children and young people who have developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical difficulties, and exceptional needs (including giftedness), and their families. The psychologist works with preschool and school staff and parents to develop evidence‑based psychology interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies adaptable for learning and home contexts. The position works under the professional support and direction of the Senior Psychologist. Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, valuing Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing, and being. Qualifications Essential: Current and full registration (general) with the Psychology Board of Australia. Desirable: Nil. Special Conditions The successful applicant must gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed, with renewal every five years. The incumbent must undertake the RRHAN‑EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online Fundamentals course, updated every three years. Remuneration AHP2 $91,785 – $106,330 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) + leave loading and applicable allowances.
