The Little School Preschool Inc is a stand alone not for profit community owned preschool seeking a qualified, experienced, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic early education professional to join us in the role of Lead Educator - Full Time Maternity Leave Position, starting Term 1 2026 until December 20th 2026. This position would suit a Diploma Qualified Educator with at least 1 years leadership experience. In this role you will be able to share your current skills in leading a group of children, supporting the team in their everyday practices, contributing to the mentoring of trainees,,/students maintaining exceeding standards of practice and sharing your passion and expertise for high quality inclusive Early Childhood Education. About The Little School Preschool Inc The Little School Preschool Inc is 16 place, stand alone, community owned preschool located in the heart of the Kembla Grange Estate, recently renamed Stream Hill. Established in 1978 by local community members, the Little School has held a long-standing reputation of excellence in the community. About the role As an educator, you are expected to be an active member of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. This includes but is not limited to: Developing strong relationships with children, families and the community Confident and experienced in supporting children with Higher Learning and Support Needs Implementing the policies and procedures of the organization at all times Working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the service’s operations. Working collaboratively in the development, implementation, and review of the educational program to ensure consistent, high-quality education and practices throughout the preschool. Work within the philosophy and direction of the overall organisation, with autonomy in managing your workload whilst working collaboratively to develop programs for children. Participate in professional development, critical reflective practices, and overall quality improvement practices. Ensure learning and development is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards. Create a stimulating and positive environment for the children. Write observations and analyse children's progression and development. Provide support and assistance to other staff members. Report to and work with the Managing Director, Nominated Supervisors and Educational Leader to provide a cohesive team to support staff, children and families. Understand laws and regulations pertaining to the ECEC sector. Maintain exceeding practice standards throughout all aspects of practice. Use and implement The Little School Preschool Inc Educational Program and Practices Guide and work collaboratively with other educators, Educational Leader, and the leadership team. In your role of Lead Educator you will commit to maintaining professional work standards at all times and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing education, personal and professional development and maintain exceeding standards in all aspects of your employment. Required Qualifications and skills: Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) Current Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting certificate Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training Valid Working with Children Check clearance Accredited Child Protection Training National Police Clearance Strong interpersonal and communication skills Willingness to work within our values. Outstanding level of verbal and written communication in English Desirable Qualifications: Allergy Awareness Training Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, Education and Care Services National Law (2010), and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). Be willing to accept the role of Responsible Person under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations, if required What you will gain You will work within a small team environment of supportive peers whom have an abundance of ECEC experience and who are dedicated to providing high quality education and care.
