Our property features 324 elegantly appointed rooms, 13 versatile meeting spaces, Coco’s Kitchen and Bar, as well as in-room dining services. Job Description We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Pullman Cairns International. This hands‑on role is perfect for someone passionate about food, eager to grow, and ready to contribute to a dynamic and supportive culinary environment. You’ll work closely with senior chefs across a range of kitchen sections, preparing high‑quality dishes and ensuring every plate reflects our commitment to excellence. With guidance and training, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to a fast‑paced, high‑standard culinary operation. What You’ll Do: Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes across à la carte, buffet, banqueting, and room service offerings Support mise‑en‑place and daily kitchen prep to ensure smooth service across all shifts Maintain a clean and organised workstation, following all food safety and hygiene standards Receive hands‑on mentorship from experienced chefs to build your technical skills and industry knowledge Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high‑quality meals for every guest Contribute ideas to menu development and improvements as your confidence and experience grow Qualifications We are looking for candidates who are passionate about growth and development and committed to making a meaningful impact within our team. You’ll bring: Previous kitchen experience in a hotel or similar fast‑paced environment is highly regarded A strong understanding of food safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe workspace Excellent time management and the ability to stay organised during busy service periods Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset to support a positive team environment Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays A proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to a high‑performing culinary team Additional Information Why work for Accor?
