Bribie Aquatic Community Events (BACE) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the maritime heritage and community spirit of Bribie Island. Hosting signature events including the Bribie Classic Boat Regatta and the Bribie Island Christmas Lights Boat Parade, BACE fosters community engagement and brings people together through vibrant, water-themed celebrations. The organization values fun, collaboration, inclusivity, and creativity in delivering memorable events for the local community and visitors. Role Description This is a volunteer role in the Bribie Island and surrounds area for a Committee Member. The Committee Member will contribute to the planning, organization, and execution of community events, ensuring their success and inclusivity. Responsibilities include attending and actively participating in committee meetings, coordinating with various stakeholders, fundraising, and managing event-related logistics. The role also entails promoting community engagement, fostering partnerships, and helping to shape event strategies to align with the organization’s mission. Time commitment is entirely up to the individual. Committee members typically spend a couple of hours each week on contributing to events with a little more time in April/May and November/December. Committee meetings are held each month that take around 90 minutes. Qualifications No specific qualifications or experience required. Enthusiasm for our community is the most important attribute. The following would be a bonus: Event Management, Communication, and Organizational skills Experience in Fundraising, Stakeholder Engagement, and Community Outreach Project Coordination and Planning skills Team Collaboration and Leadership abilities Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Social media, website updates, Powerpoint and creative content.
