The Waste Operations Team ensures efficient collection of domestic, recycling, garden, and commercial waste, emptying over 200,000 bins each week to keep our city clean, tidy and well-loved by residents and visitors. You’ll operate heavy vehicles like rear load garbage compactors, ensuring waste is collected efficiently and safely. Key duties include: Operate Heavy Equipment: Skilfully handle plant and equipment for waste and street cleaning, including rear load garbage compactors, side loaders, bin delivery trucks and handheld tools. Bin Collection: Carry out domestic, commercial, and public bin collections following service guidelines. Compliance: Ensure adherence to Heavy Vehicle National Law, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) provisions, and other relevant road transport regulations. You will have Class HR Driver’s licence Well-developed communication skills Demonstrated ability to work safely and unsupervised Experience driving a heavy rigid vehicle Side loader experience is an advantage The rate for this opportunity is $2,977 fortnightly (Grade D, Step 3) + AWCA2 + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
