Driver / Driver Assistant (3317)

You will be responsible for delivering/collecting various items (including heavy/bulky items) to/from shops across the region and will deliver these items to community members in need. By performing this role, you will help raise funds by distributing welfare items across the region to support the housing of the homeless and other vulnerable people in the community. You will perform your duties alongside another volunteer and will work as part of the wider team at our Distribution Centre. You will make a difference in the community by delivery/collecting items to vulnerable people across the community. You will work alongside a great team of volunteers and join an amazing charity organisation which is highly regarded for its ability to make a difference in peoples lives. The staff have formed long term friendships and networking amongst themselves, due to the happy and friendly atmosphere, and are considerate and helpful welcoming all new members. You will be working in a safe environment, everyone is treated with respect. Safety procedures are in place and all equipment and vehicles are regularly serviced and kept up to safety standards. The safety and wellbeing of our team is of most importance. The team has a great safety record, backed up by proactive regular updates and meetings which are held to learn from experiences and issues that may arise. A company vehicle will be provided for use during company hours to perform your duties. Multiple positions available as a driver or driver assistant. All Volunteers receive ongoing support and training. There are many long-term and caring staff at this location who always assist with experience, guidance and support, both during the learning period and when problems arise. WHS training is provided, including manual handling and communicating with customers.
