Role Overview As an Business Director – Bastion Media, you will be the trusted strategic partner for clients and a motivating leader for your team. You will inspire, empower, and guide high-performing teams to deliver best-in-class media solutions that drive growth, innovation, and lasting impact for brands. With a balance of creative flair, commercial acumen and a deep passion for the advertising industry, you will play a pivotal role in shaping client success and agency excellence. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary client advisor, managing relationships and ensuring all client needs, briefs and context are cascaded effectively to the team. Own the end-to-end quality of responses, recommendations and presentations to clients. Define project goals, deliverables, budgets and timelines, while managing expectations and ensuring smooth execution. Oversee the day-to-day campaign process, from briefing and planning to execution and reporting. Push teams to elevate thinking, challenge conventions and deliver creative, innovative solutions. Balance client needs with agency priorities, making independent decisions that protect and grow the business. Maintain visibility on financials, invoicing and resourcing—ensuring accurate workflows and timely billing. Support the creation of statements of work, retainers and estimates. Develop responses to briefs, as required that are inspiring and market leading. Manage and mentor teams, including capacity planning, prioritisation and personal development. Foster a positive, motivating and collaborative team culture, aligned with agency values. Escalate challenges where needed, ensuring smooth workflow and business progression. Skills and experience Minimum 8 years proven experience leading client relationships within an integrated agency or media company. Expertise in developing and executing above-the-line campaigns and cross-channel media strategies. Strong involvement in media strategy development, with the ability to translate high-level strategy into actionable plans. Confidence in partnering with cross-functional teams (creative, data, and technology) to deliver integrated solutions. Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver organic growth opportunities. Solid commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing medium to large-scale accounts. Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing, motivating, and developing large and diverse teams. A consumer-first mindset, consistently advocating for customer needs across every touchpoint. A blend of strategic thinking and creative problem-solving to unlock new ideas, solutions, and growth opportunities.
