Job Title Junior / Entry-Level Compositor Level Entry Location Woonona Employment Type Fulltime with one month Contract to start Role Overview We are looking for an entry-level compositor to support our VFX/post team. This role is ideal for someone who has learnt compositing at home, through personal projects, online courses or a short course, and is ready for a professional studio environment. Key Responsibilities Object Tracking Track objects and elements in 2D and 3D space Apply tracked data to graphics, clean-up, or inserted elements Camera Tracking Perform camera solves for live-action plates Prepare and organise tracked scenes for CG / comp integration Colour Matching Match inserted elements to live-action plates in terms of colour, contrast, grain and lighting Maintain visual continuity across shots Rotoscoping Create clean, accurate roto shapes for characters, objects and foreground elements Maintain organised roto hierarchies and naming Paint / Clean-up Remove unwanted elements (wires, logos, rigs, tracking markers, etc.) Use painting and patching techniques to restore clean plates Compositing Support Assist mid/senior compositors with shot preparations, pre-comps and basic comp work Manage and update shot versions according to feedback Maintain clean project files and follow studio naming/structure conventions Skills & Experience Skill Level: Entry level – experience can be from: Personal/home projects Student films, short films or spec work Online courses or self-taught practice A showreel or selection of work examples that demonstrate core skills is highly valued. Essential: Basic to intermediate skills in a compositing package (e.g. Nuke, After Effects, Fusion) Understanding of: Object tracking and camera tracking Rotoscoping and matte creation Basic colour correction and colour matching Painting/clean-up techniques Strong attention to detail and patience with technical, frame-by-frame work Ability to follow direction, naming conventions and workflow guidelines Willingness to learn, ask questions and take feedback positively Nice to have: Basic understanding of 3D concepts (projections, cameras, simple geo) Familiarity with shot production pipelines (shot tracking tools, version control) Interest in grading, lookdev, or general VFX beyond compositing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
