We're seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to provide high-level environmental and sustainability guidance, support project compliance, and drive best-practice environmental management across construction and operations.Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor and working closely with the broader project team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring environmental compliance, monitoring contractor performance, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.This is a 2-year fixed term role , ideally suited to someone based in or near Wellington, NSW. DIDO/FIFO options are available for the right candidate. The position may involve travel to other office locations and project sites to collaborate with Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct site inspections, audits, and monitoring to assess and improve environmental performance. Act as the site-based environmental representative, ensuring compliance with approvals and regulations. Review and oversee contractor environmental management plans and implementation. Report on incidents, risks, compliance, and contractor performance to project leadership. Promote environmental awareness across teams and contractors using SQE's EMS. Lead incident response and corrective action processes. Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and positive engagement. Provide expert advice on environmental approvals, specifications, and contractor obligations. Maintain accurate documentation in SQE's management systems. Escalate issues and risks to management promptly. Escalate issues and risks to management promptly. About YouYou'll bring:5+ years' experience in site-based environmental advisory roles within infrastructure or renewables. Strong knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval frameworks. Proven ability to interpret and apply approval conditions and deliver practical, risk-based advice. Experience managing complex environmental issues and stakeholder engagement. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities. Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously. Experience with environmental incident response and compliance reporting. Familiarity with document management systems and Microsoft 365. Qualifications or significant experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields. A current driver's licence.
