Assistant Professor

(or Lecturer depending on qualifications). This position will commence July 1 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter). In support of CBU’s strategic priority to “Indigenize the L’Nu way”, the Shannon School of Business has incorporated a mandatory Indigenous business course into its BBA core, and includes courses in indigenous business in its MBA and Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management programs. Further, the School is home to the Purdy Crawford Chair in Aboriginal Business Studies and our MBA program has a partnership with CANDO.CBU is seeking collaborative candidates with demonstrated evidence of effective teaching in Supply Chain Management. Courses may be assigned depending on qualifications and experiences. Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential and commitment with regard to teaching, research/creative/scholarly activities and service to Cape Breton University, community and profession.Candidates should have a doctorate degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management or a closely related field from an accredited university. Candidates with a relevant Master’s degree, professional accreditation equivalent to a Master’s degree, or who

have completed all of the requirements for a relevant PhD but for an unfinished dissertation,

may be considered for the rank of Lecturer.CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line.The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload.While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.Applications for the successful candidate will include:a cover letter describing the expertise of the applicanta statement of teaching philosophya statement of researcha complete CV including a list of publicationsa evidence of effective teachingA list of least three references.
