home_work 1 It was updated 1 day ago. The opportunity As Senior Accountant - Assets , you'll lead a small, dedicated team responsible for Council's Asset Accounting function. You'll play a key role in management of Council's asset data with a gross value in excess of $7 billion. You will also collaborate across Council on asset reporting, revaluations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislation. Working closely with the Financial Services Manager and other Senior Accountants, you'll influence strategic decisions, improve processes, and ensure accurate, timely information that supports sustainable asset management. This is a leadership role with hands‑on responsibilities—mentoring your team, collaborating across divisions, and partnering with external stakeholders such as the Audit Office and other government agencies. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of Council's asset management plans and long‑term financial sustainability. This is a Permanent Full-Time position. Salary from $109,230.17 up to $130,956.30 per annum, plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications) What you will be doing Lead and manage the Asset Accounting team, fostering a positive and high‑performing culture. Oversee asset accounting processes including data integrity, reporting, revaluations, and compliance. Provide expert advice on accounting standards and asset policies. Collaborate with internal teams to integrate asset accounting with asset management and project budgeting. Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and reporting. Contribute to major finance projects such as annual financial statements and strategic planning. About you You're a confident leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to influence and negotiate across diverse stakeholders.
