Base pay range A$110,000.00/yr - A$127,000.00/yr About the Role A permanent Software Developer opportunity has opened with a small, collaborative team in Perth. This is a backfill created by internal expansion. You will be hands on across established Java web applications, pure Java backend services, and Oracle PL/SQL programs. Your day to day will centre on getting assigned applications running smoothly, understanding how they fit together, delivering small enhancements, and picking up new projects over time. You will also help the team implement AI chat assistants and chatbots to improve user experience and workflows. You will join a team of five developers, working closely with the CIO. The environment is easy going, supportive, and flexible, with a strong focus on quality and learning. This role is fully office based in Perth five days per week, with occasional flexibility available. You Should Have At least five years of commercial experience as a software developer Strong Java skills including JSF experience of five years or more Practical experience building and consuming REST APIs Oracle PL/SQL experience of five years or more Proven experience working with databases in Oracle environments Confidence collaborating in a small team and contributing to shared codebases A proactive mindset and the ability to learn independently Exposure to Azure preferred rather than deep expertise Nice to Have Oracle APEX experience of one year or more Exposure to AI in production such as building a chatbot or chat assistant Willingness to maintain a small COBOL application when needed Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or OCI Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or APEX Office Print The Benefits Salary up to $127k plus 12 percent superannuation Stable permanent role in a friendly, close knit team reporting directly to the CIO Broad technical scope across Java, Oracle, REST, and cloud exposure Real opportunities to learn AI in practice, including implementing chat assistants Support for courses and conferences to build new skills Clear and efficient interview process with an initial phone chat followed by two rounds, possibly three How to Apply If this opportunity resonates with you, please apply.
