Key job responsibilities Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services. Deploy, scale and automate our network across many global data centers. This includes existing footprints and new locations. Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality. Create simple, repeatable processes, and improve upon existing processes. Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production. Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards. Work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume. A day in the life Amazon's Enterprise Network team helps scale and automate one of the world's largest and most complex networks. The Enterprise Network provides mission‑critical global connectivity for internal services and business applications, datacenter infrastructure equipment, and 1,000,000+ internal users. Qualifications Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF. Knowledge of TCP/IP networks. Experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl). Experience troubleshooting layer 2 and 3 network problems. Experience coding and scripting in Python, Perl, BASH or equivalent. Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution. Basic understanding of the UNIX/LINUX operating environments with the ability to navigate, manipulate and understand the file structure. Demonstrated ability to collaborate efficiently with peers, stakeholders and customers on projects.
