Community Engagement Support Worker – Cairns Region Abilifly Support Services

Role Overview Point Care is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. This Community Engagement Support Worker role is based in the Cairns Region and utilizes the NDIS framework to support clients. Responsibilities Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan. Assist clients with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming. Provide transportation assistance to clients. Provide respite care to clients and their families. Keep accurate and up to date records of clients' care plans and progress. Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team. Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the NDIS field. Qualifications and Requirements Able to start ASAP. Valid Blue Card and Yellow Card (MANDATORY). Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support or willingness to work toward completion (highly regarded). Prior experience working with people with disabilities; lived experience or paid experience is preferred. Flexible availability: day shift, night shift, sleepovers and weekends. Prior experience working with Child Safety clients or willingness to work with one. Prior experience with mental health clients or willingness to work with one. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Ability to work with a diverse client base, considering abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements. Basic care and first aid skills.
