RELIGIOUS EDUCATION LEADER/CLASSROOM TEACHER

Enquiries: We are seeking an innovative Religious Education Leader. The POL 2 position will have a FTE of 0.4 and a classroom position to 0.6. The REL tenure will be for 3 years. Our staff, in partnership with our Parish, strive to ensure that the children in our care have the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with God through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching and a commitment to student and family wellbeing. St Joseph’s Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of the children in our care. Applicants require: A deep understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education as a mission of the Catholic Church in Australia. Expert knowledge in the area of Catholic Identity and Religious Education. Advanced skills in the development and application of innovative Religious Education learning and teaching strategies. The ability to facilitate professional learning in the areas of Catholic Identity and Religious Education. A highly developed capacity to work with leadership to support schools to identify and address areas for improvement in the context of Catholic Identity and Religious Education. The ability to analyse and interpret data sets that may support school improvement and strategic planning. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Evidence of working towards or having academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education. A Masters in Religious Education or Educational Leadership will be seen as an advantage. Relevant experience within the last five (5) years in Catholic parish primary schools, or currently in a role associated with and supporting Catholic parish primary schools. Accreditation to teach Religious Education. Evidence of involvement in their own Parish. A commitment to Child Safe Standards and the wellbeing of children. Current VIT registration.
